As Qingdao Dongfang Linsheng Football Club prepares to enter the Chinese Super League (CSL), they have announced the appointment of new head coach, Guoan Zhang.
Zhang is a well-respected figure in the world of football and has previously worked as a manager at several clubs including Shandong Luneng and Shanghai SIPG. He was also part of the coaching staff at the China national team.
The club's chairman, Li Hong, said that he was confident that Zhang would be able to lead the team towards success in the CSL. "Guoan Zhang has been one of the most successful coaches in recent years, and we are excited to bring him on board," he said.
The appointment of Zhang marks a significant change for Qingdao Dongfang Linsheng, who have struggled to compete with bigger teams in recent seasons. The club has made some changes to their squad, including the signing of former China international Wu Lei, and Zhang will now be tasked with leading them towards a successful season in the CSL.
The appointment of Zhang comes after the departure of previous head coach, Guoan Liu, who had led the team to several victories in the CSL last year. However, Liu was replaced by Zhang following allegations of misconduct and corruption within the club.
With Zhang now in charge, Qingdao Dongfang Linsheng will be hoping to make a strong start to their CSL campaign, and establish themselves among the top teams in the league.
