French winger Demba Ba has scored his first goal for CSKA Moscow in their opening game of the Russian Premier League season.
The 29-year-old former Barcelona and Manchester United player netted in the 84th minute as CSKA beat Lokomotiv Moscow 1-0 at home on Sunday.
Ba, who joined CSKA from Monaco last summer, was introduced late into the game after CSKA were reduced to ten men following the sending off of defender Vladimir Zhirkov.
And he showed why he is still highly regarded by many football fans with a well-taken finish which left Lokomotiv goalkeeper Sergei Ignashevich no chance.
It was also a memorable day for fellow Frenchman Kevin Trapp, who made his debut for CSKA after joining from Bundesliga side Mainz.
The 26-year-old made a fine save to deny Lokomotiv's Andriy Yarmolenko in the second half.
Trapp will be hoping to continue his impressive form when CSKA face Dinamo Minsk next week.
Meanwhile, Lokomotiv manager Viktor Goncharenko expressed disappointment with the result, saying: "We had too much possession but couldn't create any clear chances."
But CSKA coach Slavisa Jokanovic was delighted with his team's performance, saying: "I am very happy that we have won our first game of the season. It was a good performance and a good start."
